3 Climate change podcasts

Podcasts are awesome aren't they? Here are some cool ones on climate change specifically I've got into during lockdown. If you're looking for some new sound material to enter your beautiful ears, read on my friend.

There's a few to keep you busy, but it's by no means exhaustive. When I discover more, I'll gather and make a new list, so you'll always have up new things to listen to, so do check back from time to time!

  • Force of Nature by Clover Hogan

Clover Hogan is a personal inspiration to me.

She is so goddam articulate and her sense of recall for information in insane. I'm not sure if she naturally remembers or has worked hard to memorise the facts, but regardless, honestly I am envious. She's really wonderful to listen to. She is well in versed in her field, clearly knows a lot about climate change, and speaks in a dynamic, relatable way, and at just 20 years old, should be underestimated. She knows her stuff, and is incredibly engaging to listen to.

The Force of Nature podcast sees Clover sit down with every day people who are doing things to lead the way in combating the ecological and climate crisis. It's so inspirational and a good one if you want to fight climate change but don't know quite where to start.

Also, it's a major reflection of everything this blog is about!

  • So Hot Right Now by 4th Fllor Creative and Picture Zero

So Hot Right Now is all about using communication and telling stories in ways that make a difference to the narrative and conversation surrounding climate change. It's super interesting as the conversations are so natural and passionate, it's hard to get distracted from this one.

I love listening to this one when I need a little boost or some motivation to go do something, so if you've got some eco anxiety, or are feeling the climate blues, I'd recommend tuning into an episode. If you're a fan of Sir David Attenborough (who isn't) the first episode is with him and you get to hear his opinions on broadcasting and filming, why the attention to plastic seemed to go nuts in 2019, and the seven worlds one planet documentary.

  • Drilled

It's a true crime series on climate change. Launched in November 2018, hosted by investigative journalist Amy Westervelt, and episode lengths range between 10 and 40 minutes so it's super easy to cram a couple in a day and learn about the dirty underworld of climate change business.
