LIONHEART MAGAZINE

The ultimate celebration in strong femininity, Lionheart is an independently published magazine for women

Lionheart Magazine, Issue 8

An incredicbly professional magazine in the world of independent publishing, Lionheart is created by Helen Martin and is characterised by a unique style.

The style

Watercolour illustrations, poems, stories and interviews come together in a more robust than you'd think way upon first glance at this magazine. You'd be forgiven for thinking this magazine has less to offer than it actually does, because I think that might be the point it's trying to make.

The magazine is small in size, it's pretty, it's dainty and uses faded, pastel, lighter colours. It'simagery is watery, but inside the content roars loudly. It's packed to the brim of inspirational strong people doing what they want to do, how they want to do it.

It's feminine visually, and one to be cosied up with but it will leave you feeling powerful, mighty and passionate.

The content

Style and culture stories, interviews, travel, photography, craft creativity and illustrations are included in every issue, making it a strong lifestlye publication for those interested in these ideas.

It will leave you feeling peachy good and roaring from the inside and out into the world.

In the issue I've got, you'd find a round up of green beauty prodcuts, an interiew with an Australian photographer, and a piece on an innovative, Bristol based florist.

It's pretty tradional in the way that it does try to encompass everything: there are books reviews, as well as as a how to on making a woven t shirt which can be quite dated but nice inclusions, depending how, why, what and where.

The audience

The writing provides the voices of strong female role models throughout. It's a celebration of women with light touches on motherhood, female balance, which can be seen through the publications extension Leopard magazine, which is geared more towards those with kids.

A final note

For the ROAR in your heart

Throughout the issue, you'll get constant reaffirmation of the lionheart brand and everything it stands for; being brave, wild and free.
